At Kwetu, we are more than just a kindergarten; we are a small, nurturing community where Afro-diasporic children thrive. Located in Neukölln, Berlin, our Kita serves up to 18 children aged 1-6, with at least 60% of our students coming from African diasporic backgrounds. We are a parent-initiated, anti-racist, and inclusive space that celebrates diversity and empowers young minds.

Your Role:
 

• Planning, designing, and implementing the concept, daily routine, and projects with the children
• Providing loving and sensitive care, education, and guidance to the children
• Transparent documentation of the children’s development (e.g., language learning diary)
• Maintaining a strong partnership with parents through daily interactions and participation in developmental discussions
• Close and respectful collaboration within a diverse team; participation in team meetings
• Contributing to the ongoing development of the kindergarten’s pedagogical concept

Requirements:

 

• State recognition as an educator (Erzieherin) or social pedagogue (Sozialpädagogin), B.A. in Early Childhood Education, Mono-B.A. in Educational Science, or another qualification that meets the requirements for a specialist under §11 VO KitaFöG
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to reflect on your pedagogical practices within collaborative processes
• Knowledge of discrimination-sensitive pedagogy, particularly regarding racism
• English skills are an advantage
